This April 5, we will continue with the academic finals of “faites de la science”, a competition organized under the aegis of the Conference of Deans of Scientific Universities (CDUS).
The contest
The competition takes place in two phases: regional selections organised by some twenty universities covering almost the entire national territory. A national final taking place at one of the participating universities between the locally selected groups. It is indeed a competition of free theme, which values :
- The relevance of the subject and its presentation,
- The scientific approach (bibliography, questions and hypotheses, experimental protocols…),
- Collaboration with researchers ;
- The transdisciplinarity of the project.
The objectives of the competition…
To develop young people’s interest in science through concrete and attractive projects, to arouse their curiosity and enthusiasm for scientific studies, to develop a basic scientific culture among as many young people as possible, by supporting initiatives to raise young people’s awareness of scientific research in secondary schools.
Our presentation
For this competition, the juries were more academic, so we presented the project to them, mainly from a scientific point of view.
Little downside: the orange T-shirts, not quite to our taste…
The award ceremony
At 5pm, after a polymer conference at the University of Saint Etienne, we get the first prize, and qualified for the national final on June 8 in Corsica!
